EASE Logistics’ Director of Government Operations, David Helton, has been sworn in as the Chapter President for the national virtual chapter.

[Dublin, Ohio, July 7] EASE Logistics’ Director of Government Operations, David Helton has been named the inaugural chapter president of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) new national virtual chapter.
After several interviews, Helton officially earned his title at the end of April. He was sworn in by NDTA CEO Admiral William Brown and Craig Hymes, NDTA senior vice president of operations, on June 17, 2022. Other virtual chapter officers, Cheryl Inslee, vice president, and Melody Haislip, secretary, were sworn in with David.
“I am beyond humbled and honored to have been chosen,” said Helton, “Being a part of the NDTA is extremely critical for individuals and organizations working with the Department of Defense in a supply chain capacity. The NDTA supports the DoD, industry, and the military by enabling public and private sectors to come together and recognize technology, trends, and processes that encompass the logistics industry. As the newly sworn-in President of the National Virtual Chapter, it will be my main objective to develop and lead the principles of partnership, knowledge sharing, education, and mentoring.”
In this role, Helton will:
- Preside as the chief executive officer of the chapter.
- Establish all policies and controls.
- Be the responsible officer charged with meeting chapter obligations.
- Draft and formally write chapter by-laws to align with national NDTA headquarters.
- Meet with other NDTA presidents and industry leaders to discuss transportation issues and how to be more successful.
- Establish a board and committee to serve this chapter.
- Plan and develop the framework of this new chapter.
Helton leads the Government Operations team and ensures that EASE complies with all standards and certifications. He is a United States Air Force veteran who earned a business degree from Arizona State University and an MBA from William & Mary. He is pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of Dayton.
He came to EASE with an extensively accomplished background of more than 25 years of creating, leading, and executing supply chain and logistics operations.

The NDTA supports national defense and homeland security as a trusted environment for government, military, and private sector professionals to collaborate and solve pressing challenges in logistics, transportation, and passenger travel services. According to Admiral Brown, the virtual chapter will help give more people access to the NDTA and that it has the potential to be one of the most impactful chapters of the organization.
“I will be able to engage with the NDTA’s six functional leadership committees (Military Airlift, Sealift, Surface Transportation, Distribution, Passenger Travel Services, and Cybersecurity Best Practices) to address topics of mutual interest that will be beneficial to EASE both now and in the future,” said Helton. “I will be face to face with leaders from the United States Transportation Command, the Department of Transportation, the Defense Logistics Agency, and other government agencies and industries. Through this position, we can further EASE as a leading company in government logistics.”
