Ohio Business Magazine dedicated this year’s edition of its annual Ohio Success Awards to growth companies, nonprofits and governmental organizations that displayed quick-thinking and compassion during the Covid-19 crisis.
The awards have historically recognized Ohio companies for demonstrated growth and for creating unique value or opportunities, but this was no ordinary year. How companies responded to the pandemic revealed a deeper level of commitment to employees, clients, and the community. This compassionate dedication did not go unnoticed.
EASE Logistics was among the winners of the awards, and we are honored to have been recognized for Company Response of the Year and proud of Peter Coratola for earning Executive Hero of the Year.
“Our CEO Peter [Coratola] and COO Keith [Ward] worked with our IT team to say, ‘How can we keep operating at 100% and remote?’” says EASE Business Development Director, Brett Stewart. “We were able to pivot. Within 48 hours, we had something like 80% of our team working from home.”
Despite the unprecedented challenges, EASE Logistics continued transporting critical manufacturing supplies and food and beverage products to businesses across North America needed to maintain their operations. EASE also avoided laying off any employees due to the pandemic, and the company has continued to grow and hire new employees over the past year.
“We didn’t let anybody go, and when things started coming back because of that we were able to ramp up a lot faster than a lot of other companies,” says Stewart, “and we just kind of hit the ground running and kept growing.”
Other 2021 Ohio Success Awards winners include JobsOhio, which developed new programs to soften the impact of the pandemic on small businesses, and Ohio Food Banks, which helped member food banks in 88 Ohio counties locate public and private resources to help withstand demands related to the COVID-19 crisis.
While we look forward to returning to business as usual, the team at EASE Logistics views the awards as a sign that we successfully rose to the challenge, and we remain committed to delivering exceptional and reliable logistics that customers can depend on, even in a crisis.
