Lexington was founded in 1775, seventeen years before Kentucky became a state. The city is home to about 324,000 people, and is known as "the horse capital of the world." The city has more than 450 horse farms, as well as the world's largest thoroughbred auction house, Keeneland. Lexington is within a day’s drive to two-thirds of the U.S. population and is strategically located at the intersection of interstates 64 and 75.
